NASA engineers, scientists and more shine bright this Native American Heritage Month

"... This November is Native American Heritage Month, and NASA is taking the opportunity to highlight its indigenous scientists, engineers and more. 

NASA's first indigenous trailblazers include Mary G. Ross, a "hidden figure" mathematician and engineer and member of the Cherokee Nation whose cutting edge work including work on NASA's Planetary Flight Handbook and work on early designs for flights to Mars and Venus, and John Bennet Herrington, a NASA astronaut and member of the Chickasaw Nation who, in 2002, became the first member of a Native American tribe to fly to space. 

Today, the agency's Native American employees are reaching for the stars and expanding our understanding of the universe around us through groundbreaking science and innovation.

Forbes has teamed up with market research company Statista to identify the companies leading the way when it comes to trying to support women inside and outside their workforces with our inaugural ranking of the World’s Top Female-Friendly Companies. The list was compiled by surveying 85,000 women in 40 countries. Respondents were asked to rate their employers on criteria such as pay equity and parental leave. Statista also asked women to assess how companies use their platforms and marketing messages: to promote gender equality or perpetuate negative stereotypes. Representation at the executive and board levels were taken into account, too..."

Two in 3 Gen Z workers want employers who share their values, report finds

"... Having kicked off their careers during the pandemic, more than half of Gen Zers have struggled in remote environments, missing opportunities to connect in person. Mental health strain has been particularly common among Gen Z and Millennials.

Many Gen Z workers want a hybrid arrangement, and would take a pay cut for their desired work environment, a separate poll recently found. Among this generation, job transitions have jumped 80% year-over-year.

The EY study also revealed significant portions of Gen Zers lack trust in others, and nearly half have expressed interest in entrepreneurship down the road. Many are confident they’ll see progress when it comes to LGBTQ rights and gender and economic equality. More than 1,500 Gen Zers were surveyed for the EY study..."
